$8.99 per unit

2009 Vintage, Coastal Region, South Africa. Pinotage, a standard of South African grapes is a cross between the Pinot Noir and Cinsault varietals. This wine was made by standard and maloactic fermentation, with 14% aged in American oak for 12 months then blended with the remaining 85% aged in steel. Shiraz is added for silky tannins and spiced fruit flavors.

  • Nose: Full red-berry flavors of black cherry and blackberry, a touch of cinnamon and smoke.
  • Mouth: Leans toward the full side with spicy dark fruit, and toasty oak notes.
  • Finish: Soft tannins and lingering dark fruits, spice and smoke round out the flavor
  • Pairing: Great with red meats and poultry, and the sweet fruit flavors of Pinotage make it an ideal match for spicy curries.
